KEVIN OSBORNE, OWNER
.I am an experienced teacher, having gained a sports science and professional education degree. I have worked in various schools, on senior management teams. I set up my own company in 2002, running several successful Childcare Clubs. This has given me a wealth of experience, both in the education and private sectors. I worked on American summer camps during the 1980’s, most of which were in California. I have a thorough knowledge of outdoor based activities for children . This gave me plenty of ‘food for thought’, inspiring a passion for outdoor learning. I have subsequently used many of these approaches and furthered my own knowledge through wider research and links, including the best practice from leading nurseries and school settings around the world, most recently focusing on the Scandinavian approach to outdoor learning. I have also worked as an outreach worker for schools in Leicestershire. This role has given me valuable experiences working with many agencies, schools and businesses. I have formed strong partnerships with the Belvoir Estate, Cricket Trust, local farmers and Melton Borough Council, and planned and delivered many successful projects.
GRANIA PEACE, DEVELOPMENT MENTOR
After qualifying as a nursery nurse, with a BTEC in Child care and Education, I worked as a private nanny and then in a busy local nursery. I have been working in a Whissendine Primary School for the past 7 years, based in Foundation. I am also the manager of the KIA club here, which I have developed with Kevin.
My role within KIA is, working with Kevin, to develop and mentor new and existing clubs. I create our marketing for the clubs which includes producing posters and leaflets as well as this website. I am also involved in the more strategic aspects relating to staff management and documentation. Every week I visit several of our clubs to give advice and support to our amazing teams and ofcourse, magpie a few ideas too!
We are currently working on several exciting new ideas to develop, enhance and compliment our wrap around care settings. We are Black Box thinkers with a passion for providing the best quality child care!
